"Real Hope - Real Difference"

"Defend the cause for the weak and the fatherless; maintain the rights of the poor and the oppressed. Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked."

Psalm 82:3-4

Our goal is to provide an environment for the children that both celebrates their very existence and invests in their journey towards spiritual, physical, and mental wholeness.

In Guyana, vulnerable children may be found existing in a number of categories including children without one or both parents because of medium or long-term migration or other forms or separation; children with one or both parents who are chronically ill or deceased; children spending most of their time on the streets/children in orphanages or other residential institutions; children who are survivors of abuse or neglect; children with special needs or disabilities; children with parents who are disabled or who are institutionalized and children who are in conflict with the law or who are deprived of their liberty.

At Save R Kids Children’s Home, Inc. we are committed to sharing the gift of God's love with abused and abandoned children in need. Providing a Christian environment that addresses the needs of boys and girls is paramount. We are committed  to helping abused and abandoned children maximize their potential by providing them a safe and nurturing Christian environment.  Each child is changed one day at a time.

At present, the efforts of Save R Kids Children’s Home are focused on thirty to thirty- five children living in an orphanage in Guyana, South America. Their ages range from seven to twenty years old. The home is located on approximately sixteen beautiful acres of lush property. The complex contains several buildings, a large fish pond, a small vegetable garden, and varieties of fruit trees, a large chicken pen, and five cows. Future goals for the grounds include additional buildings to house such necessities as a health clinic and a school. We hope to pave a clear path to enabling this facility to become self-sufficient while allowing the children to participate and learn. With a mother's heart and a grandmother's wisdom, Pat and the staff work every day for the well-being of the children. Daily care for the children includes the provision of food, a safe and nurturing environment, further after-school study for life preparation, and a focus on a Christian life.

In an environment in which 43 percent of the population was below the poverty line (Journal of Latin American Studies, 2000) the children of Guyana are in dire need of individuals and organizations which will support the ability of children to grow up in secure environments which foster access to quality alternative care wherever needed.

In fact, in late 2012, Family for Every Child, a global network of hands-on international organizations with over 250 years of combined experience dealing with children all over the world including Guyana, held a workshop in which they consulted with Guyanese children from the ages of eight to sixteen.  Two main themes emerged from the conversations with the children. First, was the importance of relationships with parents, peers, siblings, and other adults. The children all stressed their desire to be loved, cared for, protected, and to be treated fairly and with understanding and kindness. The other theme that repeatedly emerged was the prevalence of violence in the everyday lives of children who participated in the workshop consultation.  Boys and girls of all ages drew attention to the pervasiveness of physical violence between children, between adults and children, and between adults themselves.

Our Organization works diligently to combat and reverse these kinds of realities in the lives of Guyanese children under our care. Furthermore, our goal is to provide an environment for the children that both celebrates their very existence and invests in their journey towards spiritual, physical, and mental wholeness.
